Currently in build this new 2014 17m Blyth Wind Farm Service Vessel with twin MAN 750hp diesel engines. Full specification. This design is an evolution of the 17m vessel that was unveiled at the 2012 Seawork Boat Show. Positioning the wheelhouse on top of the passenger cabin has transformed the amount of space that the passengers have whilst providing the skipper with much better all round vision from the helm. 19.7m Damen Crew / Wind Farm Support Vessel
19.7m Crew / Wind Farm Support Vessel. Delivered by Damen in June 2014 to Twin Axe 2008 design & built to Bureau Veritas Classification, I + Hull Mach, Light Ship/Fast Utility Vessel, Sea Area 2, MCA Cat 2. Can be increased to Cat 1. GRT 39, NRT 42. Powered by twin MTU 8V 2000 M72 main engines developing 965 BHP each @ 2250 RPM providing a service speed of 24 knots. Main engines also come with 5 year extended MTU warranty and valid until July 2020. Engine hours are only 2570 hrs (May 2016). Vessel is fitted with RG Seasight fendering with an adjustable centre section allowing her to suit any boat landing. She would also come with a flat centre section of Ocean 3 fendering. Date Launched: 1- 12 months from contract signing HIGHLIGHTS1.Designer: World renowned defence and offshore vessels designer and engineering company UK's BMT Nigel Gee Ltd.2.Proven reliable performance: This proven hull has been re-built by a series of international shipyards that are acting like Kingbay as partners of BMT Nigel Gee Ltd. This design has been specifically configures by BMT Nigel Gee to carry 12 passengers and enable the vessel to carry a combination of up to three standard 10 ISO containers, one aft and two forward. The ISO containers will carry the necessary supplies and equipment for the offshore servicing tasks. In addition the foredeck layout has been expressly configured to incorporate the new Turbine Access System (TAS) being developed by BMT and Houlder to provide safer access to the turbine structures.
