In June 2015 Austal entered into a contract with Caspian Marine Services Limited of Azerbaijan to construct one 70 metre Fast Crew Boat. The 30 knot, 150 passenger catamaran was jointly built in Austal's Philippines and Henderson shipyards. Caspian Marine Services Limited operates a fleet of offshore marine support vessels, serving the offshore oil and gas exploration and production industry in the Caspian Sea region. The 70 metre Fast Crew Boat shall transport crew and cargo to offshore platforms, operated by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and British Petroleum (BP). Specifications and/or general arrangement drawings represent just one example of how this design could be equipped.

This 27m TRI SWATH Wind Farm Support Vessel is a new Austal design which will enable safer and more efficient offshore wind turbine service through its with seakeeping capabilities. The new design combines the seakeeping and fuel efficiency benefits of Austales trimaran hull configuration with a small waterplane area at rest, to deliver low vessel motions both in transit and when alongside turbines. This enables wind farm personnel to be successfully transferred in considerably higher sea states than is practical with catamarans of similar size. As well as minimising seasickness amongst personnel and providing safer transfer conditions, the new designes enhanced seakeeping performance can improve the economics of offshore wind farms. Specifications and/or general arrangement drawings represent just one example of how this design could be equipped.
