Registration and ClassificationThe vessel will be subject to certification by RINA. 4. ElectricalThe electrical system includes a Fischer Panda 12V DC generator. Electrical designs are to Survey and Classification codes. Black and Grey Water80 litres of black water polypropylene holding tank is specified, with selective discharge to either dockside pump out or direct overboard. 10. Fit outThe vessel is fitted with KND shock mitigating seats for helmsman and observer/navigator and 6 additional KND adjustable shock mitigating jockey seats with grab handles for Crew. These seats were designed by KND and conform to international RINA rules for high speed mitigation seats. The seats was designed to absorb up to 5 G's 11. ConstructionThe construction medium for all significant structural elements of the vessel is transverse framing, water tight bulkheads, longitudinal girders and longitudinal stringers. BOAT DESIGN CONSIDERATIONBoats Technical DescriptionThe hull is a deep V monohull & stepped planning form, with relatively constant sections aft. The hull is divided into four (4) water tight compartments comprised of the engine room, the central main integral fuel tank space, and the forward accommodation volume and bow section. A Cabin is mounted full length of the cockpit to provide shelter for crew and to fit with a radar arch included in the construction. Navigation lighting, radar and aerials are located on a welded aluminium tube mast, a Police light bar, search light and FLIR Voyager night vision monitor are mounted on the wheelhouse roof forward of the mast. The engines are located at the aft end of the vessel with engine room ventilation provided by port & std intake grilles over separator vents in the raised bulwark around the aft quarter. Access to the engine room is offered by inset hatches in the cockpit deck. Larger engine hinged maintenance hatches are also installed in the cockpit deck.Fender option - A light weight PU close cell foam collar can be mounted full length at the sheer line to protect the hull when along side with large vessels and prevent damage to yachts or light vessels during inspections. Fuel tanks shall be integral tanks fabricated from stainless steel 316#. Fresh and black water holding tanks shall be non integral polyethylene tanks. BOAT OPERATIONS - Crew and Technical1. The boat design was specifically designed to provide the ideal platform for high speed pursuit and intercept for Law Enforcement and Customs inspections therefore includes:a. Stern platform for personnel transfer and recoveryb. Cockpit steps to foredeck provide additional fast access by bow/foredeck transferc. Technical – all round engine access for excellent engine maintenance & serviced. Technical - cable and equipment installation design to provide direct easy access to all systems to allow fast track inspection and system diagnostics & parts replacement. Batteries - GeneralFor the primary shore power charging of all batteries a Victron Phoenix Charger 90 260V AC 12V to 24Volt DC 16Amps 2+1 outputs Adaptive 4-stage is provided. Starter batteries will have primary charging by the main engines alternators – the Engine manufacturer's specifications relating to the charging of batteries in multiple engine and battery installations strictly adhered to. Engine alternator charge outputs shall primarily charge the start batteries, with the radio and house battery banks being charged through Voltage Sensitive Relays (VSR). All battery switches and circuit breakers shall have engraved labelling clearly identifying their individual function. Al battery switches and circuit breakers shall in an easily accessible position to the satisfaction of the inspector. Start BatteriesA pair of heavy duty low maintenance lead acid start batteries shall be supplied and installed for each main engine and charged by 135A alternator per engine. The installation shall include a heavy duty double pole switches and relevant circuit breakers. A separate voltmeter (engraved labeled) shall be fitted for monitoring each start battery and mounted on the helmsman console dash. These batteries must be readily accessible for service and replacement. The voltmeter may be replaced if the EMS incorporates this feature. House Battery bank & Radio Battery bankA pair of heavy duty sealed AGM 24V batteries shall be provided with suitable charging arrangements via the Pheonix Charger and Victron Inverter. The batteries shall power emergency circuits and marine radios and GPS position readout. The installation shall include a heavy duty double pole switch and relevant circuit breakers. The radio batteries shall be located as per section (12.02). A separate BEP Battery Monitor shall be fitted for monitoring all batteries and mounted on the navigator console dash. For emergency purposes, the radio battery will provide switch capability to parallel with the house bank of batteries. Switchboards and Circuit BreakersBEP Circuit breakers shall be fitted for the automatic protection of all main and sub distribution circuits. Main load circuit breakers shall be mounted in weather tight cabinets and have engraved labels. All other circuit breakers and switches shall be of a waterproof type and located within the helmsman or navigator consoles as specified. Easy access shall be provided to the front and rear of all switch and distribution boards, which shall be effectively protected, against the environment and accidental contact by the crew or passengers. All switches / circuit breaker panels must have either engraved labelling or labelling provided by the panel manufacturer. Suitable night lighting is to be provided to the switchboard.
